A Passionate Woman Treads the Boards!

Tuesday 31st August 2010

Hi there everybody!

Sorry to have been away for so long. I've been busy putting together the feature film of A Passionate Woman. It looks fabulous although it's only 105 minutes long...and I had 3 hours of material! It was so painful having to cut large chunks of it out but nevertheless I am very proud of it.

The film premiered at the LUFF festival (London UK Film Focus) and it had a fantastic reaction - spontaneous applause and tears along the way. The distributors are working hard to get it ready for the Dinard Festival in France and hopefully it won't be too long until it's out on general release. Please keep checking the Rollem website for updates!

I do have some other rather exciting news. I will be playing Betty in the stage production of A Passionate Woman for Hulltruck Theatre Company in Hull. We open on 10th September and it will run until 2nd October. I'd absolutely love it if you could coma along and see the show. The cast also includes Stuart Manning (Hollyoaks), Anthony Lewis (Emmerdale) and Andy Dunn (Dinner Ladies, Coronation Street) and is directed by the wonderful Gareth Tudor-Price. I'm absolutely loving getting back into acting. It's a bit scary - 12 years have passed since I was last on stage. I'm working round the clock and I'm absolutely knackered, but I've got a great feeling of satisfaction as a result.

This will be the only time that you will get the opportunity to see me playing Betty so please log on to www.hulltruck.co.uk for details on how to book tickets.

I've got a few interesting ventures planned for after A Passionate Woman. I can't tell you exactly what they are yet, all I can say is...watch this space!
